Hi All
The Nec Lancaster classic car show is progressing well with the TEC having a stand again like last year . We are blessed with the Red 2000gt , which turned up at Billing coming onto the Stand with a recently restored MA61 Supra, a MS85 Crown and an AW11 first edition mr2 , giving a wide cross section of vehicles across the years. With only a couple of 2000gt's in the Uk this car should generate loads of interest and encourage the public to see whats on offer with the TEC. I am hoping that it will attract a lot of the classic car magazines, hopefully giving us some much needed publicity in classic car circles as a club. So don't forget the date the 11th to 13th November at the NEC birmingham If you come on the sunday it is much cheaper to park at the railway station car park and walk across the bridge. Look forward to catching up with faces old and new.
I have also made an application for a stand space at next years silverstone classic, which is the largest classic car show in europe, went this year with the MR2 mk1 club and it was awesome , with a largest selection of period classics being raced on the circuit on all 3 days , just awaiting to hear.
please now let me have details of classic car shows near you which would be worth attending, so i can apply for a space and tickets .
Billing as a venue is no longer with the owners now refusing to accommodate any car clubs, we felt as a venue it has run its course so we are looking for a new venue for next years national, suggestions welcomed.
Will keep you updated as things develop, but look forward to seeing you at the Nec.
Best wishes
Malcolm Graham-Jones

clubs who participate are allocated complementary tickets for club members to attend for free or reduced entrance have these been received and if so who have they been allocated too ? as i live local and have shown at the NEC in the past, I do know that these are available and would be interested if they have been received and not already allocated

Chris, last year you had to turn up on the day and then ask a member to come out and give you a ticket at the entrance.

The organisers issue two complimentary tickets (wristbands) per exhibitor(4 cars exhibiting) plus two extra per day, so we have 10 per day , if the Friday wristbands for example are not used they can be exchanged i think before 2.30 on the day for tickets the next day, last year the surplus wristbands were used by club members on a first come first served basis, and easiest method was phone when arriving and I would meet the member at the entrance plaza to hand over the ticket. At the moment I have no idea as to how many spare tickets might be available. There is a NEC discount code for tickets booked in advance, I will get that posted up as soon as I go through the on-line manual.

Hi all
The show is coming together well with just over a week till the start. We have 4 vehicles on show namely :- - Toyota 2000gt -Toyota Supra Ma61 widebody - Toyota Crown ms65 1979 - Toyota mr2 T bar 1989.
I have been busy ordering tear drop flags for the end of the stand , these are the ones we can use at all shows that sit under the car wheels to identify the stand . They will be on a white base with red writing, showing the club logo , 25 years 1991-2016 and our website address . Also the enrolment form has been amended to hopefully attract some new members and showing the new subscription of £15 per annum rolling for 2017. new members will renew 12 months from their joint date , whilst existing will fall on their annual normal renewal date. payment can also be made by paypal as currently. it will help to spread the administrative load. We are looking forward to a great show and we are based in hall 5 stand 135 again so come and say hello.
I will be starting to work on the show calendar for next year so can i have your recommendations so i can make applications for tickets , it better to use my direct email - malcolmgrahamjones@yahoo.co.uk, so i look forward to hearing from you. Also we will be starting a hunt for a new venue for the national show as Billing is finished , so again suggestions by mail. Nec stand photos will be up once the show starts .

Good to hear what's going on Malcolm, would silverstone work as a venue as its close to billing ? Hi Bob Tends to be a bit big so would get lost in the massive crowds , good event to attend to raise the profile. We are on a new venue hunt , but would like to get together with other jap clubs , but maintain our individuality, keep you posted. cheers malcolm.
