After a number of years we will return to this Show, held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, with its central location convenient to Motorway, Rail and Air links. It take place next weekend November 13/14/15. We plan to display 4 cars. Dave Clarke's RT40 Corona. Harvey Wade's TA22ST Celica. Darren Neilson's MS75 Crown Coupe. Steve Cheung's ST162 Celica. We believe this interesting cross section of members car will showcase the wide variety of Toyotas that the Club attracts. Full details of the Show at www.necclassicmotorshow.com

Well done on the efforts of those that went. One benefit of an indoor show is the display does not get blown about. Good to see we're back in and showing the face of the club again. Was there much interest in new members joining up?

Good show and positive response from the public,a fair ammount who didn't know a club existed, the cross section of cars on display started a lot of dialouge. There was a good few members popped in over the 3 days to say hello which was great, and being sited beside other Japanese clubs certainly helped. Four long days on the concrete floor took its toll on my feet!

Hi guys I visited the stand and enjoyed the seeing the cars, in particular the TA22 1600 ST as I had a very similar (darker Blue) 1972 model in 1979. I also later owned a 1978 RA28 2000GT. I also bought a AE86 Corolla 1600 GT new in 1986. Years later I also had a AE92 Corolla 1600 GTi.
My love of Toyotas started in the early 70s when I went to a local second hand car dealer with my father who part exchanged his Austin A40 for a Corona MkII.
I have always had dreams of finding a 1600 GT Celica, so on the off chance there is someone in the club considering selling now or in the future please contact me.
Hope to see you again at other car shows.
Neil

Bob it was one of the many increasing health and safety requirements that organizers have to abide with,I had to arrange borrowing some from my work! when setting up there was a few oil spots and one oil slick from the big yank tanks when the arrived, and as you correctly say not a spot of leakage from the toyotas!

Thanks for your interest and kind words regarding the Club Stand. As advised in the first post on this thread, the Club thought the four cars displayed, would represent us very well - nineteen sixties, seventies and eighties, all standard specification, three original and one a detailed but correct restoration. Having said that we realise that it is the owners choice to have the car as he/she wishes and we do have modified and non standard cars in the Club. Indeed, probably the least standard Club members car of all, an ex Toyota (GB) race TA 40 Celica was recently purchased by a chap in Sussex who plans to return it to the Historic Saloon Race Circuits including the prestigious meetings, nearby to him at Goodwood.
On the subject of your interest in a TA 22/23 GT - as you probably know, in comparison to the ST, not many sold new by TGB, so genuine UK cars now very scarce. However I am aware of a car that may come to the market in the next few months, with the Club member maybe reducing his collection. I know there are at least two people already on his "first refusal" list. However if you want to be kept in touch give me your contact details to dvbe926@aol.com As you may have noticed on the Club Facebook chat this week, after the Show, no doubt generated by Harvey's lovely early TA 22 ST, interest in and values on first gen Celicas seems to be very much on the increase.
