It is a sad day for me and those of you who know me, that my Celica was involved in a head on collision with a car in the wrong lane. I am ok and so are my two daughters aged 11 and 5. The other driver has admitted fault and I will settle with him privately. The Celica is too far gone to save, and we all know how difficult it would be to get wings, then there are all the internals that go with it.

hi steve sorry to here this news see you sunday to catch up, i hope he is paying £5k plus to settle privately because thats what the insurance company will settle at with a agreed value letter from TEC, don't forget thats for the car should be worth a least a couple of grand in whiplash injuries, i am not greedy if you have dealt with insurance claims and thats what my wife used to do thats where things are nowadays, if i was in his shoes it would be cheaper to let the insurance sort it, you need to be very careful you don't get shortchanged as it was his fault .

Hi Steve That's really sad news, don't know what to say, because it will be difficult to find another one. If it's not an economic repair It's a difficult decision to dismantle for spares. Hope the family are OK . See you over the weekend.

The Celica has been bought by a fellow 162 enthusiast to be used as a doner car.

Good job you've got some better pictures than the last one to remember it by Steve.
