hello
Well, after 11 years I've managed to kick my Beetle habit and I'm now looking for a TA22. haha. I'm pretty new to all this Toyota lark, but they look fricking awesome and I must have one. I don't really have much time on my hands so i'm not looking for a project as such, but if it needs a little TLC then thats ok. I have a pretty good budget, so ideally I'm looking for a nice tidy one that is good to go.
Basically, if any of you have any good contacts/leads then please get in touch.
Thanks for listening
Will

hi
well, from what i can tell, the flatlight versions are more desirable but thinner on the ground, right? I don't really have a preference truth be told. As long as the car is in good condition I'll be happy.

Hi and welcome ebay is your best bet For over priced crappers yes! I've been browsing egay since october for the right one I'll more than likely end up importing one from J-land actually I do agree with you to certain extent but then something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Ebay has to be treated like any other advertisment/selling agent, go and see the car decide how much you are willing to pay and take your chance. The differance with ebay is that there is a wider catchment, so you are not just up against a small percentage of the people looking for that certain item. All gen 1's are rare but there are good one's that come up from time to time,ok not weekly or monthly but they do come up.( there are current 4 gen 1 celica's on at the moment 1x ta22 1x ta23 and 2x ra28 ). The value of these car's is increasing all of the time, maybe it's down to there rarity of them or maybe it's down to a newer generation of car enthusiasts that don't have the same predjudice views on Japanese classics as some of the older generation. All I can say to anyone looking for a Gen 1 is best of luck.
