Looking for an oil pump for a 2t-b engine as I am having difficulties obtaining decent oil pressure, espiecially at idle and also engine is knocking, but only between three and four thousand rpm when accelerating. I ran an oil treatment through before using decent oil and Slick 50 to try and boost pressure but to no avail. Can anyone piont me in the right direction.
Thanks, Paul.

Dont like being the bearer of bad news, but your bottom end is knackered . I have experienced this several times during toyota ownership mostly due to abusing old and tired engines(in my younger days),you will be experiencing a promninent knock at 3200 rpm and the classic low oil pressure. Trying to get a 2T engine locally might be difficult now,but im sure Either Bob Clark or Shaun Davies might be able to get you a sound replacement engine. You can repair your own by getting the crank reground and new undersize shells, but watch who you trust your machining work too. A well known Glasgow reconditioner managed to poorly grind my brothers hi-lux crank so give me a pm and I will tell you who to avoid!

I'll second that. A well fitting bearing creates a pressure "wedge" in the oil as it spins. When the main bearings wear the pressure drops off. In my experience the 2T-B pump will be ok but bearings knackered.

Thanks for the good news guys, just what I wanted to hear!
The knocking only just started and to me it doesn't sound loud or deep enough to be big ends, but i will take your advice on board and drop the sump and inspect the shells. I will let you know what I find and fingers crossed......
