Body repairs to rear almost complete. should be painted by end of week Dinger Yes you can take a drive in it, how about a 4A-GE thrown in to make it interesting! Seriously the old 993cc will be put back in , after a top end rebuild as a precaution.

Are you sure such a tight deadline is good for stress levels? I hope you do make it in time.

That's looking great, I'll have to get my TE51 trailered up to you for a spot of bodywork Also from the picture above I assume you've gone down the Pimp My Ride avenue and actually fitted that 32" LCD TV in the little 1000 ;D ;D

Am I right in thinking that you said today was MOT day for the little 1000 ?? If so, what was the outcome?

The car was due to go for its mot today but it didn't go to plan, the wiper blade mechanism had seized therefore we endded up with an extra few hours work trying to get that problem sorted out.
However we are still determined to get the car to Billing even with this tight deadline ;D

yippee ;D mot pass some 25 hrs later than planned, major setback was the wiper motor and mechanism removal, its fitted to car then dash installed, so lying upside down with head at the pedals removing the offending item was not great fun, but its done now. still interior to refit, and polish so looking good for the weekend barring any major issues?

Good news indeed, but I don't think you'll be needing wipers as it's the middle of August so the sun will be beating down

Managed Billing but not without issue, carb problems on test run after mot, brokedown 4 miles from home sticky float, resolved that then a massive 10 mile test run on thurs night it seemed ok. Friday was fitting interior and a quick machine polish of the paint, which was not that quick! noticed fuel leak and fuel pump diaphragm failes so changed pump at midnight friday then remembered tracking was not done so had to set tracking, (I have gauges older than the car but they do the job fine! so by 1am car ready to be packed then i discover the seatbelt fastner arms on garage floor that were removed to fit carpet so back out with socket set!
A few hours sleep then it ended up gone 8.30 before leaving (so much for 6 am departure)We left and set on our way only to get 6 miles then car spluttered to a halt sticky float again a swift hit with my steel toe capped workboots got it going but we headed back home to "borrow Debs starlet carb", we left at 10am and proceeded without issue well over the border and down the M6 , what could poss go wrong now! Well we had as hairy moment in middle lane beside an Eddie Stobbart when the 1000 lost about 25 of its 45 horses almost level with the cab when no power the lorry driver must have realised and eased off and let me in and over to hard shoulder, a place we got familiar with on i think 5 more occasions. The issue seemed ignition related, a wipe with a rag and scrape of the pitted contact faces using the toyota screwdriver saw the 45 horses back for another short while then same again,no power we procedded to limp into a service station where we begged some emery from a RAC man. I removed the points and cleaned them and once again running sweet then same again. By now we realised at around 50mph it would run with a missfire, push it to the legal limit ang it would soon die so remaining 20 miles to Billing were about 45mph . I called Ian (IFC63) and he agreed to look out fresh points and condensor and bring them on the Sunday which would hopefully solve the problem.

Well I must say, Harvey you did a cracking job. You promised it in time for the AGM and you did it with hours to spare  I'm sure with a few more hours on the paint it will look superb. Gemma is a lucky girl. (or she will be once she's passed her test)
