I have made a start on sorting the corrosion on my Crown. Thought I would tackle the corrosion on the rear quarter first. The rust was quite extensive so I removed the rear window with a cheesewire cutter. Luckily the rot had only rusted through the first skin so managed to clean up the screen aperture. Cut all the rot out and used weld through zinc primer to stop new rust. Took several hours shaping my repair panels. I think this will pay off as not much filler needed to make it look nice. Here I have taken a template from the nearside to get the curved contour right. I will make the curve in steel or lead load then finish off with a skim of filler. Then high build primer. Will etch prime the steel first for best protection. Are there any other members restoring Crowns? I don't see many new posts about Crowns on here much.
