Mike, if i was in your position i would go straight for 235/60/14 , as 225's are no longer made anywere in the world, the guys on the USA supra site covered this subject at length. In a 235 you are going to be limited to Cooper tyres , or BF Goodrich, the Cooper is the better of the two but if i remember has a lower speed rating. good luck.

Bob, would the different size tyres fit the original wheels without any problems ? The 235 tyre is 10mm wider , thats 5mm each side and the rolling radius is within 10% of speedo limits. The supra speedo reads under by a good 10%, when the reading is 77mph, you're only donig 70mph.

Morning Supra God Bob, I've spent many hours looking for such tires and like Harvey the only place I can find them are at www.northhantstyres.com the product is BF Goodrich so it looks like that's the place I'll be going, The guy who sprayed the Supra for me is going to have the old tires removed then he's going to walk the new one's on so the rims don't get damaged by machine Thanks Bob for your words of wisdom on tires !! and that reminds me the checker it works my brother worked out how it goes things are looking good for the old Gal now Cheers mate you take care Best Mike.

Glad the Checker works, as i never tried it. As to tyres, buy what ever you can as stocks a clearly drying up. The BF is not a great wet weather tyre, yet on the other had being fresh rubber they wil be better then the 15/20 year old ones you currenty have. The BF's should only have white lettering on one side only, so you can put the letting to the inside if it not to your taste. Are you buying 5 ? if so you can rotate them around the car including the spare to get the most wear out of them.

Aye up kidder !!! I what you up-to ?? The answer is yes five is what will happen and very soon the Supra will be off the road at the end of the September and before then I've to fit new rod ends and track rods plus I need to get the tracking checked and the big thing is on the rears I think it's the camber, question how can I check the camber on the rears !! or in your opinion are the rears set at the factory ?? or sould I say the lump is just bolted on on the production line just like most cars, do I just do the checking for toe in and out as the rears seem to be the problem as there wearing off the insides but more so on the drives side Mike.

Mike when you took the rear suspention apart , the rear wishbone had an off concenteric washer next to the bolt that hold it to the Subframe, that is the camber adjustment, its not something you ever touch unless you're doing a full rebuild. You will need to get an optical alinement done, the settings for front and rear camber/caster/tracking should be in the body workshop manual. Trouble with this sort of job , you want a specilist , not a garage that only gets the tools out twice a year ! If the rear camber has been upset with the rebuild this will wear tyres out on the edges. The off concenteric washers have a graduation marking on them , if you had been doing a bush replacment , you could have marked it first Best get the camber done before fitting the tyres, so they last longer.

Hi Bob, Thanks for the info Buddy Boy and yes I know the bolts and washers your talking about, the washer is a part of the wish bone I think it's spot welded to the wish bone so it doesn't move when you adjust it ?? back in 2008 when I put the Supra back on the road I booked it in for the full wheel alignment job But I think they didn't make a very good job of it however I've found a guy who knows the Supra and he's going to help, I've let you know how we go as it's not going in until next month sometime that's after I've done the steering rack jobs Best for now Mike.

Hi Bob I'm back time to get them skates on !! These concentric washers What !!!!!!! ?? :-XI see the bolt and I've studied the manual and I see NO concentric washer ?? I've asked Toyota to send me there info form there manuals so I can see if what your saying makes any sense I've also sent for info from DKR to see if we can bottom this problem What I can tell you is I pulled apart two Supras at the start of the build back in 2008 and I was most careful to record all the parts I took off and lately I've pulled apart two more and again I remember not seeing these washers I will keep you upto date on events but I would ask if you could look again just to see if what your saying is right back ASAP Best Mike.
