Hi All. So I'm back in the Celica Gen 1 fold again (previously owned a yellow TA22 with a Rover V8) and couldn't be happier. Did a 450 mile round trip yesterday to buy this beauty. Ran poorly on the way home but after a tinker with the solex's this morning things are much better. Plans are to sort out the very soft suspension, get the engine running right and enjoy for a while. Any tips on firming the suspension up a bit, especially the rear? [/quote] I'm after another door mirror for the near side. Any ideas as to where I might get one? Thanks Lee

Hi Bob,
It was advertised on car and classic website. The car was up in St Helens, I took the train up on saturday gone, paid teh reradies and drove her home.
Very pleased with her although she's not running great, one of the carbs is to blame I think.

The car was up in St Helens I'd noticed the Cheshire registration tag (-FM) and then saw the dealer was Bentleys of Warrington. Are they the original plates and supplying dealer as Bentleys are still Toyota dealers (the wife's old Corolla was from there) bentleys.toyota.co.uk/As said, very nice car, lovely colour too. See you at some shows possibly.

Nice celica complete with the astrali alloys that were ,rumoured to have been 70,s dealer option . a bit more of a conversion than fitting a 2T-G. As Ian says its a pity show season almost over as it would be nice to see it in the company of other japanese classics

I'm not too keen on the alloys, was thinking of changing them. Hoping to go to JAE on the Sunday so maybe see some of you guys there?

You were lucky things were not more serious with that tyre failure, I had a similar incident in the sunchaser several years ago,old tyres subjected to a 200 mile motorway journey resulted in the tread departing from the casing of the tyre. Mine did not blow but the strange thing was the vibration from the front tyre ,did not cause much of a steering shake, i initially thought the vibration was caused by a propshaft failure as all the vibration seemed to be from the centre of the car. Worth checking the age of the tyre as most have a month and year marking moulded in the sidewall

Great session on the rollers this morning. He balanced them up perfectly and she's running sooo much better! He did recommend rebuilding both carbs but it'll do for now. She made 114bhp, not great but I'm very happy with how its running now. Next job is to make it go round bends properly! Sent from my HTC Flyer P512 using proboards

Hi chaps. Need a quick answer if possible as I'm trying to place an order today. I've just ordered some new Monroe rear shocks but the supplier can't find anything listed for front shocks for a 1976 TA22 but he does have some listed for a 1975 TA23. Can I use them and if not can anyone point me in the right direction?
Cheers chaps Sent from my HTC One X using proboards
