This event was listed in the last TEC topics and interested parties had to forward there names to Peter Hunter who was co-ordinating it.Im sure all who asked for passes got a place on the tour.

Last I heard it was still to be confirmed, as there is a FORUM for this sort of thing I thought maybe there would be something in here. I saw nothing on the website. SHOWS www.toyotaenthusiasts.com/ShowsSo just how many members of TEC are actually going?

So we'll show the whole world what an active club we are and how we get invited to the Toyota Production facility. But no one want to talk about it.

Bryan, to be honest as I was not involved in the organisation and not going it was off my radar this event ,however you make a valid point that there should have been some more recent communication as to events the club was attending.

Nothing ever changes does it? Typical TEC club, organisational skills par excellence, p!ss up in brewery, and inability abounds, ffs.

It wasn't exactly hidden away from what I recall. TEC Topics Summer 2015 (postmarked 11/07/2015) had three paragraphs on Page 4 in the Club News section titled Factory Visit. It fully explained the way to apply for a place even though a final date wasn't confirmed by Toyota at that stage. Maybe it could have been put on the forum but any member can do that. As regards the website I have made it very clear over the past 2 1/2 years that I can devote virtually no time to keep this updated but no offers to take it on or assist (apart from Harvey) have been forthcoming. In the interests of the club can I politely ask members who think their interests are not best being served to see what they can personally do to enhance their enjoyment out of the club, rather than ranting about how little others appear to be doing. I am not going to rise to any hostile responses to this post, I just wanted to put forward an opinion.

All it shows is that there seems to be very little unity between the forum and the TEC at the upper levels. I had expressed an interest at the AGM amd was keeping an eye out on the forum, as it would have seemed logical that an event like this would have been posted on the forum. I hoped TEC had joined the 21st century.

It could quite happily join the 21st century if there was someone willing to drive it that way. Unfortunately most of the 'upper level' are quite happy to admit that the internet is something they cannot or will not get majorly involved in. I did try, but as said previously, circumstances have meant I cannot give it the time it deserves. Gemma Wade has valiantly pushed forward on Facebook which is going quite well, but it has been shown to be quite a volatile, fast moving medium in which confusion and upset can quite easily rear it's ugly head. Maybe this kind of frank but polite discussion will lead to a more long term solution. Either that or the TEC will remain what it has always been, a friendly show-based club with media output limited to a quarterly magazine and a fairly static web presence, with the possibility of a fragmented web group that will become a separate entity.
