As part of Harvey and Dennis's request for help in taking the club forward , I have volunteered to move the clubs profile forward by taking on PR responsibilities, so that we can start to grow the membership and increase the profile of particularly the early toyota cars.
I am now talking to all of the market classic car magazines and receiving a positive response about the early vehicles as well as a requirement for editorial , photos and in some instances photo shoots.
With the club coming up to its 25th anniversary , it is an opportunity to increase profile on the back for this and I will be pulling together with Harvey's help some editorial which the magazines can use.
I have already received a positive response from classic car weekly who are prepared to a run a sizeable article on the club and the early cars. They require a couple of vehicles for a photo shoot at a date to be arranged. at their base is peterborough, it would be owners who are prepared to get their vehicle to there on a week day for a professional photographer to do the shoot.Maybe you could pm me with your acceptance and a contact number if you are prepared to get involved. As they are part of the same group as Practical Classics , I would hope that we could also get an article into this magazine as part of the same photoshoot.
Currently Classics Monthly have confirmed their agreement to run an article so i will be sending them some editorial in the near future and of course I am talking-to Toyota uk , to see what support we can gain from them.
For those who don't know me , i have been involved with the club for over 20 years having run the 20/40 series register for most of this time. I have a selection of early vehicles from ta22/ra28 through to st162 . st202 and ma61 wide body supra, in all a right collection, so pretty well versed in early jap metal.
Looking forward to hearing with you , with the offer of help on the photo shoot.
regards
Malcolm.
