Hi All, I've applied to be a member, so hopefully I'll be more official soon In the past I've always driven manual cars...Past Corolla's etc etc. I am now buying a 2019 Corolla CVT. For the most part I'm happy, but, I can't for the life of me find a proper answer to the following questions. If you can help I'd be very happy.. 1.When at lights for a long time or in a jam what stick position should I use??? From what I've read I'm thinking Park, but I'm really not sure. If you could explain to me.....and yes, I'm a blonde 2.Whats the automatic handbrake? If I were to stop in DRIVE would this come on in traffic? If it did I guess it might answer question number one. Thank you for any advice you give. Sx

If it's the hybrid, it's up to you but I'd probably say just keep the brake on in drive. It's the old, brake lights dazzling people vs you might need to move quickly argument.
Also I've only driven one for a very short time but the electric brake only did the hill hold style thing if you left it in drive.

Thanks for the quick response A.
I might be in too much of a manual mindset, bud isn't holding the break pedal for minutes on end tiring?

It depends I guess, if you're in slow stop/start traffic it's fine, if you can see you'll be stopped still in the jam for any length of time then fair enough, knocking it out of drive is probably best.
