Hi everyone
What are your thoughts on this?
I know it's not likely to go ahead but with the time and effort that goes into organising a show like this I suppose they have to get it sorted and then postpone/cancel it rather than try to throw something together at the last minute should restrictions be lifted.
I've filled the application form in. I just need to fill the stand now. Genuine enquiries only please. I usually apply for a plot for 8 cars but sadly we only manage 5 or 6 so I'll see wait to hear back from you and then reduce it accordingly. Regulars have missed out recently due to no shows so please turn up if you apply for a place on the stand.
Let's think positively and hope things improve over the next few months.
Thanks
Jeff

Jeff, great work in trying to do something positive - hope it does take place and you get support. Really enjoyed Meirion's video on his Celica 205 GT4 taking on and doing so well against Toyota's new wondercar, the Yaris GR4. According to leading mag Autocar - best hot hatch of all time - amazed Toyota built such a rally based car, for the road - best of all the new cars we drove in 2020. All, Sold out to the end of the year etc
So I was excited when my local dealer loaned me his GR4 demo earlier this week - to compare to my Yaris GRMN. Whisper it, but I was a tad underwhelmed - maybe because I can't drive it like Jason Plato in the video. Didn't feel much, if any faster than my MN. A bit subjective, but engine and exhaust note not as racy. Gear change definitely slower and more notchy on the GR4 than my MN - my dealer agreed and thought it needed more miles to free up. The blurb tells us all body panels including the roof, special to the GR4 to make the body shell lower than the standard Yaris. Reduces forward vision, but despite the lower appearance, not and as my pal and fellow GRMN owner remarked, until you are right beside it, might still be mistaken for the standard car. No danger of that, when you arrive in a GRMN with its larger white brake calipers and big, boy racer red and black stripes.
BUT, the big advantage and stand out point of the GR4 its level of grip from its 4 wheel drive, adjustable between front and rear axles - you can apply full power out of a wet roundabout, no sliding at all. Makes me realise what Meirion and Jeff like about their Celica GT4's and I remember when I had them as company demos, 165/185/205, the 205 much the best, back in the day.

Hi Denis Thanks for your GR Four write up. Nice to hear you've still got friends in high places when it comes to new cars. Sounds like you won't be trading your MN in just yet Fingers crossed Tatton Park goes ahead and I get some interest in it as I've only had a few replies so far.

Hi, I'm assuming that this show for June is cancelled as I can't see it listed on line on Tatton Park events calendar? Unless anyone knows otherwise
