Hi Folks!
New to here so I thought I would say hello!!
Just bought a 1979 RA40 in black with 67000 (hopefully genuine!) miles on the clock. Had a TA40 a few years ago and always wanted another Celica and then I saw this one on a classic car site and got it for £675. Slight bubbling about the back wheel arches but apart from that in great condition.Took it for an MOT yesterday and the tester was amazed at the condition she was in for her age.So, if anybody is in Falkirk and sees a black RA40, stop and say hello!!
Cheers
Stevie

Hi Stevie and Paul ,Welcome to the TEC Forum,I am from Kirkintilloch,Sold a 1980 TA40 last year for about £500 with a years MOT ,It was in need of a Respray and a rear arch i welded a new tyre well in from an escort. I am in and about falkirk all the time. I have one of just Two 1972 Flatlight Celicas in Scotland, the other is with Harvy Wade. I also have a 1975 Bubble light Celica in the garage. Hi Paul
I think my rear arches are ok - just surface rust but once i rub them down I will probably find out they need replacing!
What I will be looking for in the Autumn is a new interior(blue) as my front seats are a bit shabby. If anybody has one for an RA40,let me know and a rough guide to the price I would pay would be helpful.
Think the Autumn is going to be a busy time for me and the old girl as she has had a respray and its not the best so we might have a few weeks of rubbing down!!
Just out of curiosity, what is the availability of tailgates and doors?
Thanks
Stevie
