Hi everyone , my current moneypit is a 76 gt ra28 with a 1ggte conversion. plans for it are new single turbo, new ecu and polished and ported head. it currently has 240bhp on the stock twin turbos but with the mods im hoping to make 3-350 bhp. Cams are also an option but with wheels/tyres,paint and interior to do we'll see how far the pennies go! cheers davie

That's a truly amazing engine conversion you've done there.......respect to you sir . What have you done to the brakes so far...2.8 celica-supra or maybe custom made ?

Well done. I love the colour too. I'm curious about brakes, struts, steering and gearbox too? Al

I wish i could take the credit for the conversion but its pretty much the same as when i got it. I was looking for a clean 28 to dump a 2jz in to as they are total beasts with that engine and i wanted to scare a few scoobies and evos on the 1/4 mile but this one came up and after doing a bit of homework on the 1g engine it made sense to buy it and improve the output of the engine. The engine is really smooth with the twin turbos but they have to go to get more power. I was really lucky that it had the intercooler ,exhaust(3"ss) suspension and brakes already upgraded. Its got gas shocks all round ,hd springs and all brakes are disks. im not sure if the front are stock and the rear might be from a corolla but il put up some pics when i start to strip them and maybe someone will recognise them. I thought long and hard about a stroker conversion and it would have worked out well with it being a 6 cylnder 2litre and would i have got about 550bhp but spares for this engine are hard to get here as the engine was only available in japan(mk3 supras/soarers) also it wasn't going to be cheap!I could put in a 2jz for less and get more power so IL stick with the 1g and save the 2jz for another day! The engine is coming out this weekend and its of to calder racing development in Livingstone so that should give me time to get the arches on and prep it for paint. If anyone has a 3 piece trd rear spoiler they want to part company with let me know ;D I very much doubt it will be ready for the cruise Al but stranger things hav happened! thanks for the comments Dav

WOW. That will upset some of the "Old School" purists but I think it's great.

OK Dave, I have put it on both this Gallery and the Scottish Gallery, and the Scottish clubs Gallery is hitting your RA28 at twice the TEC gallery ( Must be somthing to do with the babes on the gallery www.flickr.com/photos/scottish_classic__car_clubs/sets/Its in the set TEC in Scotland As the scottish Gallery is bizzy, the Scottish forum is dead at the mo, not like this Forum, with all the talk about BIG Engines

I love the 2 ways: modded or restored.. If restored, I'm a purist, I expect original bolts but if it's modded, I expect a very good and well done job. This car seems to be in good shape! Can you post more pics please?? What about the axle? Is it the factory one?? I guess it's a bit weak for that power ?

Here's some pics of the front/rear brakes and the axle. Its not the original axle as you can see brackets welded for the shockers

The brackets for the shocks look standard toyota style; that's the way they are on RA28s. It's the disc brakes that's different. Are they from a AE86 anyone? I don't think the axle is AE86 because there are no signs of an anti-roll (sway) bar at the bottom or even a bracket for one. Looks like a toyota axle but out of what I'm not sure. Front calipers are different too. Did I see this on ebay a while back???
