Well I only gotcha for about 17 minutes, but it was worth it. I was forced to buy it, as I've been dropping Brick sized hints to Harvey for the last 2 years about stealing yours, so this one was the remaining choice of about, erm, one? We'll see if any more ever appear. They obviously weren't the biggest of sellers, but I assume they were actually sold officially in the UK, or were they specials? Do we know of any sales numbers (Bet Peter does)? It's a different colour to yours I think, less yellowy-poo, but not sure. It was originally a more brown/beige metallic. It's now been painted a solid brown/dark beige colour. I like the white wheels, and stripe. It's very retro, cute, albeit not as funky as some of the Datsun mini-estates of the 70's. cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4607568878&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1Compare this luvverly 100A estate that made good money this week on ebay - £750. I would have been tempted to the dark side with that, if it had been cheaper. This one sounds quite rorty, doesn't feel to comfy over 50mph as you feel like you're over revving the engine, must be low geared, and is obviously only 4 speed. Nice an nippy on the lower gears as the flip side. Tailgate lock and release mechanism is only operable from the inside. Any bright ideas / replacement hatch mechanism's anyone can supply me with? A corolla etc hatch system from the same era probably v similar. Reg Oct 1977, test to mid-Aug. Fits a bicycle in the back no problem. I have tried it! I cycled to the vendor John from Lincoln to Mundesley near Cromer on Norfolk coast on Saturday . Brrr! Took me 8 hours! So I probably have another world first on my drive way at the mo: A great huge hulking Crown 120-series estate, and it's distinctly smaller little brother the 1000 KP36! Are you going to post some pics of your new acquisition in the Celica section? IvorNuvvaToyota aka sneaky b*gger Tony

I had to buy it, it was the DECENT THING TO DO. I tried not to, but I couldn't escape it's enticement. Both KP36's together would be another GOOD THING. You never know, they might start mating and then there would be some more wee little 1000 estate bairns, probably about the size of your keyring models. Mine is called 'Little Pat' after the 1000 saloon I used to have. It was blue, and broken. The number plate was PAT 115R, and I ended up giving it away to Billy for donor parts for his resto. He came up all the way from the Big Smoke complete with a trailer and a one Gary B. nb. Did Billy ever get his 1000 restored and back on the road? Little Pat aint coming to jockland because 'there be dragons', and the people are skirt wearing barbarians in blue paint, by all accounts , so which sassenach show are you coming to?
