As above,
Iv seen one forsale but im not sure exactly how much to offer the seller -
Its been in UK for a while but only been dry stored, its not registered in the UK,
Its got a cloth/vinyl roof which can be pulled back etc,
It has some rust but nothing too drastic, it looks quite a solid car.
Id like to buy it but i dont want to pay over the odds, whilst restoring it and then it owing me a fortune.
Any ideas as to what its worth...?

The LT as far as i know , just has trim differences from UK spec, can't seeing it having any less value that UK models, you only have to look on Ebay at how well all generation 1 celicas are selling at the moment, in my mine an Aussie spec model could be classified as a more rare vehicle and more desirable ( my opinion ). The speedo could need some attention as it will be in KPH not MPH......good luck.

No, as far as I know LT is the basic one, lower than a ST. They had a different front grille and slightly different trim inside. Mechanically same as ST. But I think the Australian market is the reason we got those extra lights on the dashboard that don't do anything. The Aus cars have brake warning sensors wired up up to them. Fluid level I think.

Alfazer is correct, the LT ( which stands for Luxury Touring ) is the base model.
Is it a Liftback or Coupe ? As some coupes were 2.0 in Oz as well.
1600 LT's came with the 2T single carb
The 2000 LT's came with the 18R-C which i think had some extra emmissions gear on it ?? I think slightly less power than the 18R ??
Things like radio and rear window demister weren't standard, they were optional extras on LT's
I think an aftermarket sunroof (especially a big 'Webasto' style) would lessen the value a bit imho

I think the 2.0 coupes were RA23 automatics, same as UK. (quite rare)

They were available auto or manual. I nearly bought an Aussie 2.0 coupe a few years ago, it was a manual.

Manual too, sorry I never knew that. On the original question, I'd have thought they might be worth maybe just a little bit less than a UK one, assuming all other things were equal. (and I'm not just saying that because I have a UK one for sale on ebay ) My personal least favourites are the USA ones with the big bumpers and LHD, but I'd consider a OZ/NZ one very close a UK one. I like the Japanese ones too. A UK one is more likely to have rust and an OZ one is more likely to a bad dashboard, headliner and interior due to the sun damage and heat. I think the sunroof gives you serious haggling rights too especially if it's tatty and might leak, although it might be quite nice on a warm day. I'm curious about general values of these cars at the moment. My RA28 ST is making 4k right now on Ebay with 4 days to run if that's any help? But hey, we know what ebay's like for generating bidders that don't show. And there's a credit crunch too. (but that probably means I'd be better keeping the car as an investment rather than putting the cash in the bank.) Also, whether it needs paint or not is probably the biggest issue. That would swing it for me, when you look at the cost of a decent respray never mind any panels/welding.

Wow!ive just added a 77 Aussie import for sale on this website!look in cars for sale. The LT is the same as an ST in most respects as a single cam engine etc however the Aussie car has a lower ratio differential and very desirable/popular for use in oldskool toyotas for drifting.

These cars are fetching mor emoney than ever.If i clean up the bodywork on mine and a nice paint job(which is all it needs)i would be asking 4,000.A recent article in Practical classics magazine proves it...the magazine noticed an example sold recently on ebay in the uk for 4 grand and they now say they have to change their priceguide for this car in their mag.But i dont have time to get bodywork done as i going to emmigrate to Australia in one month as ive been working out there the last year and prefer life/wages out there so im going back.
