Hi, I'm new to the board, and Toyotas. I did have a Datsun 120A FII coupe but a couple of months ago it was taken by joyriders and written off. I'm now looking for something 1970s Japanese to buy and just love the liftback style of Celicas. Apologies in advance for my ignorance about model numbers, going on aesthetics mostly! Anyway, I've been watching this (as I'm in Norwich) and wondering just how much work would be involved in getting it back on the road - probably one of those "how long is a piece of string" questions without seeing the car I know there was another that went recently for £2250, but that was in better condition, and the engine was actually in the car! I'd really appreciate a little advice, if anyone has a few spare minutes to check out the pics on ebay: cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=330327195461I quite like the idea of rescuing something and restoring it over time, but don't have a bottomless pit of money - who does?! I'm hoping it doesn't make its reserve, then I can go and have a look at it. In the meantime any advice would be very gratefully received - thank you!

did you copy and paste every last bit of the link? for some reason only part of it is highlighted (the red bit) but you need the black bit too - if you just click on it it doesn't work, annoyingly! here it is again: RESTOanyway, it's a 1978 RA28 LIFTBACK LT2000 TWINCAM, an import but it doesn't say where from. having read a few other threads on this site possibly Australia? so the body shouldn't have rusted too badly, although that spare wheel well needs work... and at £1020 it didn't make its reserve, so the guy obviously wants good money for it. he had another minty one but that didn't make its reserve either: MINTYthanks!
