My first Toyota was a KE35 SR which I had long before I passed my test, that car never was on the road, so my first car on the road was a KP60 Starlet GL. I passed my test in this car and had lots of fun driving it. It also had many an engine change as time went by it got to slow and I required more power. It went from a 1 ltr to a 1.2 then 1.3 with a 5 speed box.

My first Toyota was a 1980/81 Celica 1600 STCoupe RA40 (facelift) It was around '88/'89 , (i was about 20 years old at the time ) I had it around a year or so. It was up for £1995 and i traded in a '78 Datsun Laurel 200 L and £1500. It was in very good condition and it was a great car . I've owned a Celica in one form or another ever since . Here's one of the few pics i have of it. (from my Celica Club gallery) Checkout the groovy wheel trims

As a wee student aged 20/21 back in 1988/89 ish, I bought my first Toyota, and in ongoing fashion, it was an MS112 2.8 Crown! A silver quad lamp model in vgc, and cost fairly serious money.
It was at the very first gathering of UK Toyota classic enthusiasts (Billy Wells, Peter Hunter, Harvey Wade & Debs et al) at the East of England Showground Peterborough. Can't remember the year!

I've still got my first toyota, my '79 corolla TE51, and it's still my daily driver (40 mile round trip every day to work)! I bought it about 2 1/2 years ago from Claudia Lawless in Gloustershire who was a previous TEC member to replace my '82 Talbot Samba which i managed to roll in the country lanes between Nuneaton and Solihull. I had no idea about toyotas before i got it, just saw the photo in classic cars for sale and thought "wow, that looks cool!". Went down with me dad to look at it and (sad as it sounds) fell in love as soon as i saw it...... £600 and it was mine, the most expensive thing i've ever bought! jon

Hi This is my first Toyota. A 1979 Celica 1600 ST Coupe ( TA 40 ). I paid £300 for it in 1996, I loved it and had it for about 3 or 4 years. It was so reliable, but in the end it had to go as it rusted away.

My first Toyota was a 1972 KE20 corolla bought £50 with a knackered engine, £40 bought a donor car and that was it back in 1982. I did the same as Big AL and changed the dash to the SL/SR type with rev-counter and eventually put high comp 3K-B head and twin carb set up in it. Great car that twenty series. My second was a KE-35SR £80 this time, this one needed welding. I could go on and on because I reckon I have owned over 100 Toyota's over the years.
