Hi I am about to buy a pair of main/high beam headlights for my RA28. They are sealed units but i have found some here which take just a bulb. www.classic-car-accessories.co.uk/acatalog/Headlamps.htmlSize seems correct when i measured the ones on my car 5.75 inches. Not 100% certain if TA22 are the same but i think they are. If your's is 5.75 inches across then i gues they will be the same? If you do get them from this palce make sure you get the correct ones for main beam Mine faile its MOT failed yesterday, but only on one headlight and the rear number plate lights , so good result. Good luck with your MOT , hope to see you at Billing This is the one i'm goin for Ref: CL04131 5.75" (146mm) takes an H1 55 watt Halogen bulb for a sharper, brighter beam. This is a main (high) beam reflector unit for use on a four headlamp system. "E" marked. Each

Just a bit of an update on the lights.
I bought a pair and they arrived next day. Nice lights and correct size, but i am having problems connecting them up and getting them to work properly. The high beam keeps coming on with the dip beam(ie all four lights on when just wanting dip/outer lights on.
I have since found out other people have had same problem trying to replace the sealed beam with a halogen set up.
I am now thinking of trying to source a sealed beam as i really need the car mot'd asap.
Hope you didnt have too much rot, but good news its being sorted.

I did a conversion like this a number of years ago on RA28. (Same lights as TA22) but there were different inner and outer pairs. The outer pair used the twin filament bulbs, H4 I think, and the inner pair had single filament bulbs that only came on with the full beam. I thought the lugs on the back were different so you couldn't put the outer pair on the inner and they had to match the correct mount? The lights I used were Valeo brand which I think are the same as Cibie. I'm sure a auto-electrician could adapt the wiring for you if you stay with the halogens you've got. Much better than resorting to sealed beam.
