For the past few months, readers of Britain’s biggest and best classic car magazines – Classic Cars, Practical Classics and Classic Car Weekly – have been sending in photos of their vehicles, all of them with their own distinct identity and fascinating stories to tell. A panel of experts have whittled those hundreds of entries into a shortlist of 60 cars – ten in each of the six categories – that will now battle it out to earn the right to show their car at the 2010 NEC Classic Car Show in Nov www.ccoty.co.uk/classic_car_voting.php?cat=4Yes, there is now a Toyota and a Honda in the top 10 shortlist of 1970s vehicles. -Thanks to the classic motoring press, with a mention for T.E.C. Aston Martin, Porsche Ferrari, TVR, Triumph, Fiat, VW and Austin are also represented. So that’s 2 Japanese vehicles out of 10. There is (no) real competition, but if by chance we do make it to NEC, there could will be a supply of tea and cream cakes for all TEC card carrying visitors or new members.
