Does anyone out there know of any on-line resources/pdfs/info/pictures etc,for service and repair on specifically cam timing, but the 18rg in general?
And also, the best place to buy spares/gaskets etc preferably on-line? Or maybe part numbers if i have to go see mrT?
Thanks

I got 18r gaskets for my hiace from my local motor factors, couldn't get hiace ones so ordered a Celica set which seems readily avilble. I got the 18r factory manual here can do you some scans at the weekend if you want?

sorry missed the 'G' bit! erm yes there are 2 18r manuals; early one doesn't cover the RG the later one does- i've got both some where. My drunken rambling about hiace gaskets wont matter with the 18RG- unless they are the same headgasket?! I'm sure i read on the Toyomods site that pattern 18rg gasket sets are readily available in OZ. if 18rg and 18r gaskets are the same Burton power are selling snazzy head gaskets: www.burtonpower.com/c4172-059.htmlCorona getting a twink then

Corona getting a twink then Ah,you've sussed me! ;D Yep,she certainly is. I picked up the complete engine up for £150,but it needs an inlet mani gasket, exhaust gasket and now i've pulled the rocker cover to see how it looked under there,it needs one of those too. It's proper spotless under there, but the marks on the cam wheels don't seem to line up with anything obvious so i wanted to check it against something. I've bought a 78-81 celica haynes now hoping there's some info in there....i kinda thought they'd be all sorts of knowledge on here though I know the block gaskets and bearings are the same as the R engine, just not the gaskets on the head. Pretty sure the actual head gasket is the same, but that's not coming off at the mo as the engine seems in really good nick.
