my rotten luck continues went to start the supra this evening and it almost went but then nothing just the sound of the engine turning over it was getting dark so i was unable to investigate properly but the battery warning light is staying on together with the amber engine light and another amber light seemingly indicating the rear lights ? any ideas ?

Unfortunately , of the charge light , the oil light and the handbrake light the only one likely to go out when turning the engine over would be the oil light , and that would only be after prolonged churning when the pressure would build up.
Main things to start looking at would be petrol and spark and go from there.

funnily enuff it was just the damp that had done it from a downpour the night before . i sprayed some UB40 on the engine and it eventually caught and has been fine since . my other car and motorcycle were similarly reluctant to start as well . the damp air must have really hung around on my driveway
