I fitted the original wheels on my car today and dropped it and Andrea's Datsun off at the film set today in the peeing rain. The Corona is way more fun with its extra power back on skinny tyres and in the rain! The film is a biography of Formula 1 champion driver Niki Lauda and the 1976 crash that almost claimed his life. Mere weeks after the accident, he got behind the wheel to challenge his rival, James Hunt. Director: Ron Howard www.imdb.com/title/tt1979320/We were met by vehicle coordinator Gary from www.reelvehiclesuk.com who kindly showed us round the chilly and wet set. Filming the Fuji scenes begins tomorrow My Corona Fuji 1976! Someone's Celica ST. You can almost hear them fizzing (rusting) away in the rain Fire engine for filming the Nordschleife race in Germany Attractive black Tranny Fuji pit Spooky inflatable crowd Cool old Tyrrell truck with Jackie Stewart's autograph on the bulkhead Awesome Airstream motorhome They're also going to use my Monkey Bike as a pit runabout
