HELP,has anyone tried to get an engine gasket set or knows where i might get one for my 85 ma61.I don't seem to be having any joy in the UK and am reluctant to ship from US as i can't be sure of quality.I haven't tried main dealer yet but i'm sure they would be to expensive. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Andy, Help not the answer a good bank account is but don't be alarmed you own a classic machine, the guy you need to speck to is Uncle Bob he will give you all the answers and hopefully make you feel a little better about the cost of spares for your MA61 like you I have one and it's been in my Garage for the last 25 years and I guess it's cost me just over twenty grand in that time just £800 a year in real terms £15 quid a week which I don't think is that bad when you have something that's like new and also each time you drive it really does make you smile Gaskets yes from the US yes thats good there all very good quality and Toyota have them on stock too, your right about cost in all cases but you can buy then from Toyota has you need them !! as in one at a time that helps the pocket a little, I will get Bob to set up a post for you to try and make it a little better for you as they say ! I hope this helps Best Mike G.

Hello Andy, Gaskets set can still be found for your car, Toyota will still have them but will cost you, your local motor factors should sell ADL-Blueprint parts they make or did make a gasket set. When i rebuilt my MA61 engine i purchased the parts from the States, i used www.rockauto.com/ even with the import duty they were cheaper. If you want the parts sooner than later and quality, go to Toyota. If it helps look up Toyota dealers selling genuine parts on Ebay and ask if they can do a good deal on a gasket set. good luck

ok just done a bit of homework on Toyota dealers on ebay. several Toyota dealers selling items on ebay all at a good discount on trade counter prices. Just ask them a question on a price for a gasket set, they will ask for your reg number or chassis number. Ebay User name... parklandstoyota marsh_parts inch63toyota beadlesmedwaytoyotaparts t.g.holdcroft howtoyota

Thanks , yes i agree.I have been quoted $45 by boat, could take 5 weeks or $85 by int express.I will contact seller and see if he will take an offer and also check the cam gaskets.I don't really want to wait for up to 5 weeks or pay $85postage.I am still tryng to find the time to contact toyota dealers on ebay, but i will try and make time tonight. Thanks again for your help.
