Has anyone transplanted leather seats from a Lexis, MR2 or Subaru Imprezza, for example, into a Celica ST183? I have a '91 Celica Convertible and would love leather or alcantara seats.
Let me know if anyone has tried this and succeeded in making other seats fit.

This is not the answer you were after.....but i'll continue anyway ;D, i new a guy that fitted the leather seats from a gen 7 celica ( 1999 onwards ) to a gen 6 celica, the front seat sub-frames needed new mounting lugs welding on, and the rear seats, he took the covers off the gen 7 seats and recovered the gen6 seats, there was a few gaps but they were round the back and down the sides....could work on your gen 5 seats...good luck.

No leather seats available at any breakers locally. I have been keeping my eyes peeled in papers etc, but can't trace any seats. If you know of any for sale, let me know.
Wouldn't mind seeing some more photos of your convertible Celica.
