Not seen it yet, but to be fair to the Dattie, it was a bit old hat when the Celica Supra came out. Both are fine cars. Where it not for the emasculated bumpers on the zed, its overall styling is probably a bit more curvaceous and swanky, although the CS is a more sharp design.
The Iron-Cross zed alloys were also much nicer that the non-widearch alloys on the first CS.
imho!

Personally I never ever like these 'so-called' back to back road tests in classic car mags. To me it is almost childish when you try to say one old vehicle is better than another. With regards to trying to find and own any old car you get what is left (i.e: not rusted away ). In my opinion both are very nice vehicles

When Classics Monthly first contacted me looking for a Celica Supra, the article was to feature a 2.8i Capri, They got let down and as a result they managed to organize a Datsun at short notice. So perhaps this is why it wasn't an ideal match. It made very interesting reading featuring two really fine cars.

I remember (Think it was )WHAT CAR done a test between Capri 2.8 and Celica Supra 2.8 and the Supra came out best,it was faster to 60 and faster top speed,it also held the road better,as lotus got involved with the suspension on the supra, the Ford Capri 2.8 had leaf springs. Ps Don't get me wrong, the Capri 2.8 is a fine car. Big al
