Hi, I am about to retore my GT grill back to as new condition, and wish to get the honeycomb panel treated and then plastic coated. Due to its present condition, I am not positive of the correct colour. Should it be satin black, silver, graphite grey? Also, has anyone successfully retored the centre GT badge? If so, what process did you use?? Any help would be good. Cloudder

Dont plastic coat the grill its steel so it WILL rust under the plastic, just primer it & give it a good gloss paint (base coat & laquer)

Hi Sidta23, Thanks for the advise- gratefully received. Do you know what colour it should be? Should it be black?
Clouder
P.S. love your TA23GT- how is the progress?

I have an original copy of "Campaigner", TGB's own house mag. Summer 1975. Back cover a colour ad. for their own Insurance company, which features a head on colour pic. of a Copper TA22GT, only that colour and white offically imported into UK. While the pic. is brightly lit it looks a mid silver, cetainly not black. Thats the colour I did my JKC car, featured elsewhere on the Forum. So whether silver or Harveys darker grey not sure, but I know his original white car and would not argue the point if his was in original colour. No patricular knowledge of the 23/28 in GT trim but assume similar.

Bought this on ebay couple of years ago off Harvey who i just knew his name at the time but know him better now through this site, just finished restoring it yesterday, painted 2k black also the gt badge with the GT letters in silver vinyl stickers cut out myself, had to cut off the middle mounting bar at the back cos was rusted through & tig welded the outer ones, i think it looks great.
