thanks for the warm welcome! the car was in decent nick when i bought it around two years ago, tho it still needs odds and sods, ive replaced the sunroof, which left a rather nasty hole behind the cutout requiring welding, ive done some more welding in the boot floor and some minor rust repairs around the windows, im hoping to get a respray later in the year because the paint match is very poor and im a bit of a perfectionist! im on upgrading the shocks to KYB Gas shocks atm, and im gonna overhaul the brakes as soon as. with regards to the five speed, ive taken an existing T40 (from my first TA22 which succomed to terminal rot a few years ago) and put the rear housing on the back of the later T50, you need to change the selector rods over as they're different but they are completely interchangable, its all bolted up and the T40 housing selects all the gears properly, the only thing to worry about is that because im using a T40 housing theres no reverse lock out, but thats ok as long as i dont try to go for 6th! i havent actually fitted it yet, but i'll let you all know how i get on! cheers
