I have never replaced a full exhaust system and was wondering if this is a straight forward job on a corolla gt coupe rwd (1985-87)?

If replacing with another std system you must disconnect both shockers at the axle and get someone to push axle as far down as possible as you twist the rear section out over the axle, the front is no problem as long as the manifold nuts release ok.The janspeed is easier as it splits just over the axle, make sure you have sturdy axle stands before you start pulling and hauling below the 86.

Harvey, many thanks for your advice. I have been offered a standard Toyota exhaust from my local dealer. The other option is to purchase an after market version like the Janspeed but I would rather keep the car as original as possible. It does seem more than a one man job. I will get quotes for fittment from a couple of local trusted garages
