hey all,
I've got a genuine Toyota 8 track player for my TA22, thing is i can't get it to power up, i did have it working, but it was squeaking like mad so i changed the drive belt and now i have nothing...
anyone know how to fix these old units? i really want to have this working in my car!
thanks!

I know nothing about this particular unit but here's some general suggestions which you may have tried already? Well if it was basically working before you changed the drive then it could be something like you snagged a wire inside, dislodged a connector or something. Is the back of the circuit board touching the metal casing maybe. Have a look in case there's a little fuse inside the casing or at the back that could have blown. Use a meter to check you're getting power to the board. Simply having a look over the components you might spot something like a capacitor that's blown, maybe a tiny bit of soot around it. Basic stuff like that is always worth a try. AL
