Thought I should start my own thread, as I need all the advice and help I can get.
I've always been into messing around with cars, but this is my first classic.
I'm not trying to restore her to pristine condition, but just getting her to drive smoothly and handle, whilst looking like a trustworthy car would do for me. I have only got her for playing on track with, so I am expecting a lot of wear and tear, but my aim is to keep the wear to a minimum!
I've cured countless oil and water leeks, replaced some missing fuel jets, rewired a faulty fuel pump, straightened a bent pan hard rod, etc. But I've still a long way to go yet!
Here's a list of things that still require attention;
I realise that this club appears to frown upon modified classics, but any hints/tips, advice or even assistance in helping me get this car "right" again would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a list of things that still require attention;
- Various rust patches emerging as bubbles under the paint
- Understeers really badly, I have shredded front tyres to prove it!
- Very bad body roll, someone said it's normal at that age, but I'm sure something can be done
- Whilst at Elvington airfield, the bonnet popped up on me! Any simple fit safeguards?
- A new tin dash needs to be mocked up for all the switches/gauges etc
- The seats need to be replaced, they are so laid back, I can't reach the gearstick!
- I need to fit a LSD, not sure if it'll fit in the original housing
- The exhaust is currently 102.9db at 5K rpm, most tracks only allow 95db, needs silencing!
- The carbs need balancing/tuning, I can reprogram ECU's, but carbs are beyond me!
- The wheels need spacing out to fill the arches
- Suspension seems too low. Can it be raised at the back?
