Just thought I would share this with you all our new baby. ;D ;D It took us 4 months but its here. 1979. 44000 mls. I am overjoyed to have her home. This has brought back alot of good memories I took all my driving lessons and passed my test in one I brought Gemma home from hospital after she was born in one (Harveys AE86 blew a head gasket on the way to the hospital when I was in labour). But that is another story. Harvey traveled down to pick her up on Thursday and drove her back home, getting back here at 11pm from Strood. This wee car hadn't even been more than 15 mile radius out of its home town.

Dont worry there is no way that Harvey will be messing with her, he will have me to deal with.
He can keep his 4A-GE to himself. Or find something else to muck about with, this one is off limits.
You still have your TA12 .......... you could play with that

I let Gemma have a go at driving lastnight in my little baby now she has a taste of it she wants to drive more or should I say try to drive more. I did say we will wait till her 1000 has been put back into working order once the birds have finished using it as a nesting box. LOL

Starlet has decided to overheat on a few occasions recently, so its now sitting without its head at the moment.
Post mortem suggests lack of antifreeze has caused heavy sludge deposits around the waterways to the extent that the passageways on the head were almost completely blocked.
This will have caused a few localised hot spots and severely impaired circulation resulting in gasket failure.
No doubt when the re-cored rad fitted many years ago the antifreeze mix was very weak and has not been changed since.
The head was scheduled to come off over the winter as the valve stem seals appeared to have stopped sealing, the blue smoke on start up and after a bit of idling in traffic were the tell tale signs that they had gone brittle.
