Myself and a friend are going to sort the head out on Colin Williams's 1977 RA28. This has got an 18RG motor in it. What is the availability of a head gasket set inc. stem seals, genuine or otherwise? Also are there any variations in gaskets as we are unsure of the exact origin of the engine, will the engine number give us any clues on this? Thanks in anticipation, Ian Condliffe.

I can still get complete gasket sets here in Australia. They are aftermarket ones made by a reputable manufacturer. Let me know if you cant find anything in your country and I will give you the link to get some from over here. Dave

Cheers Bob, I should have updated this but I've had a recent motorcycle accident which has put me out of action for a while. Since your reply on CCUK (I think) I tried my local Toyota spares man (Loll Knox at Carr & Griffiths just outside Chester) and even though they are now a Kia dealer they still have a Toyota spares set-up. He's got all the old stuff on microfiche still and got me all the bits needed within a week. Thanks anyway, Ian.
