Hi all, I recently got an uprated rear anti-roll bar or my '98 ST202 GT. Can anyone tell me, from first hand experience preferably, if I can swap it without removing the tank straps, hoses etc ie just a straight out and in? Otherwise it'll have to wait 'till summer.

Hi Chris Find a local friendly Exhaust bay and have a quick look when you run it up on the ramps. I don't think you have to go anywhere near the fuel tank to swap it over. 2 drop links and 2 bushes and it's job done

It was a couple of months ago when I first looked so I can't remember what exactly.

Chris, according to the Toyota chassis manual, remove drop links, bushes, right hand tank strap and exhaust tail box then anti roll bar. I will be changing mine on my 1999 GT this summer also. Hope this helps.......... Stu. PS. when adding or removing the drop links you need to jack up in the centre of the rear beam, if you try and jack up one side and then remove them it throws the weight across and makes the other one difficult to remove which also applies to the anti roll bar bushes, I know from personal experience.

Yes I kindof figured that one out as thats what the A/R bars supposed to do lol. But one thing I did read somewhere is that you're supposed to set the car down on the ground and settle the suspension before tightening the drop links and bushes though what difference this makes I don't know as all joints are mobile???
