This weeks edition, cover date Aug 26, of National weekly magazine Autocar, has an interesting feature on UK Toyota importer, TGB's Heritage collection. Started back in 1995 it aims to include what they regard as important and significant cars in their 55 years of selling Toyotas in the UK. Oldest car in the 18 car collection, a 1966 Corona, youngest a 2018 Yaris GRMN. Apart from one or two project cars like a very modded Aygo all must be original, unmodified, factory spec. They are still adding selected models and say they would like a very early Supra and some of us think they are, as far as we know, still keen to add a gen 1 Celica, preferably a TA22 GT. However the feature tells us they know finding a decent factory spec example of either, will be difficult.
The same issue of Autocar has a "future classic" theme. Cars to buy now cheaply, that will appreciate. I think you will know the Lexus they tip, but I don't think you'll guess the Toyota they reckon will.

Always suprises me that they didnt keep an example of some of the significant models when they were produced/sold..
