Hi,
I am new to this website thanks to Tony, have always been interested in Crowns since I was about 14.
I have a 1981 MS112 that I am restoring, its been off the road since 1993. I have a long way to go yet, but when its finished it will look like new.
Around six years ago, a MS112 Crown was seen in Norwich all the time. It was a taxi and went on for years. I have not seen a Crown on the road here for many years.
Do any of your members know the annual Bromley Pageant? It claims to be the biggest one day classic car show! For the last three years I have attended, and not one Crown! Loads of Datsun 280c's!
I look forward to speaking with other Crown owners and sharing knowledge. Good website.

Welcome Chris, and graz. We now have the momentum of three Crown owners in the UK on this forum! I am sure this total will rise as the forum gets more well known. No TEC club sites have even been advertised in any mags yet.
hey graz, what colour and condition etc is your MS112?
Chris's is a brownie. Mine are both silver with blue interiors, one of each type - 4 and 2 headlamp models. There's even a few sub variants if you knw where to look, like in the door trim lmaterial, mirrors (number of, first March 80 cars only had drivers side I think), even the auto box they used. Some 79 build models even had FACTORY vinyl roofs, I've seen one in London 10? yrs ago, must have been an import. Not that it looked good mind, but different.

hi tony my crown is a light metalic blue and im afraid to say shes in desparate need of t.l.c. Ive only just taken ownership of her thoe she must have belonged to a former member at some time as she has the owners club sticker in the rear window all be it with the old phone number. shes in desperate need of a front nearside door , bootlid, and rear panel i,e the panel where the rear lights ect are housed. God knows where ill find one of those?? if any members have any of these parts idd like to hear from them. when i get the log book back ill let you know when it was registered i think shes a late one as she only has two headlights not four! also she injection not carb the reg is NYU 4Y and i got her from clacton on sea in essex . look forward to hearing from you all soon ...

Hi Graz,
I have seen one metallic blue Crown years ago, it looked quite nice. My colour is a very dark Brown (i think 420 paint code). It makes the car look very prestigious. Dark colours do I think. As far as im aware, they stopped importing them in 1984, and replaced it with the Camry. The one I saw like yours had the alloy wheels, electric door mirrors, cruise control, 2 large headlights, with side lights in the bumper, and large indicators in the wings.
Are your panels corroded beyond repair? Whats wrong with the door? My light panel is corroded, but repairable. Bootlid is fine on mine. Occasionally ebay has ms112's although I dont want another Crown in the way, one is enough! All the MS112's in the uk were injected 2.8's with 5me engines, auto tranmissions. Any others must of been imported privately.
Good luck with panels, as rare as rocking horse brown stuff I think!

my crown has alloy wheels electric mirrors ect but no indicators in wings or cruise control,, today i thought i heard the bigends knocking when she reached 4000rpm when i used the kickdown briefly. shes not done 80k yet and is like a church mouse when started cold so im not sure ill have to keep an ear on it. Mind you it could have been somthing falling off under the strain just like the front near brake calliper did the other day!! took me ages to find 2 bolts with that thread on still it did solve one funny noise i was geting lol ....

I've been to the Bromley pageant of motoring many times, i looked after TEC club stands for a few years, at that time it was Celica's and Corolla's that attended, but when i joined the TEC in 1993 they had a 8 car line up, and 2 of those were Crowns. Billy Wells has had his Brown MS112 and Blue coupe at Bromley a few time in past years, i think its down to who ever is running the stand as to what cars attend, not sure who's doing it this year, maybe a mix of Crown, Celica and an early saloon would go down well . Last point , the Bromley show i've always found to be bias to British/ European old cars and the japanese cars don't always get a look in .

Hi Graz, hows the Crown going? Ive just etch primed the last of the chassis, should have all the new rubber bushes fitted soon between body and chassis. If you find a Celica and decide the Crown must go let us know. I really need a front screen at some stage. Perhaps yours is too good for parts, but I bet most end up as being banger raced rather than being used for spares.

Hi Tony,
Thanks for that contact, will phone him. I managed to get two badges of a chap called Rob, (the blue grill badge and steering wheel one) of ebay. My grill badge was stone damaged. The Crown now has all the chassis painted. Exhaust next, then axle back.
