Chaps
I'm in the market so a new vehicle in '24 so naturally went to the Toyota/Lexus dealer in Bristol - got talking to the dealer manager (who runs both dealerships), mentioned my 25 year old Picnic, and floated the idea of them hosting a meetup/event - he was quite receptive, which surprised me. Dealer info here
Both located at First Field Way, Patchway, Bristol BS34 5TN just off J17 M5 (Cribbs Causeway) so handy for members in the South West, South Wales, Midlands and M4 corridor West of London.
Since I've never done anything like this I'd really need a 'mentor' who has organised events before to guide me through the process of getting such an event up and running, but happy to take it on.
Anyway - if the club would like me to follow this up I'm happy to do so in the new year.
All the best
Martyn

Hi Martyn
Sorry for the late reply.
Each April for the last 6 or 7 years Park's Toyota Carlisle have hosted Retro Toyota Day where all the new models are cleared out of the showroom and forecourt on the Sat pm and owners are invited to bring their classics along. It's grown year on year. Owners are asked to vote for the best of each decade/model and awards are given to the winners. There's a Premier Inn close by so owners travelling a fair distance can stay over the night before.
It's organised by Mark Whitfield who works for the Park's group and is a Celica owner himself. I'm not sure if he's a TEC member but if you need any help I can put you in touch with him for advice on going about organising an event at a dealer location.
