To look at they are the same,could it be the 3-T has a bigger bore,and was the 1400 a 1-T

visually there is no difference apart from prefix on the engine number,the 3T denotes the third generation of the "T" series engine and has a longer stroke of 78mm compared to 70mm in the 2T.The 1407cc T enging I assume will be a smaller bore but cannot comfirm if its bore or stroke thats different.

The T engine had an 80.0mm bore against 85.0mm for the 2T. Stroke was the same at 70.0mm.
Capacity 1,407cc against 1,588cc.
