Hi all,
Just bought a Mk 1 MR2 to play with and need some info on fuel system if possible. The car has been stood for quite a while and the fuel pump does not appear to be working. Is there any reset switches or other possibilities that could be a solution before I remove the tank to change the pump ? Any help would be appreciated.

No reset switches on the MR2 ! The pump only runs when the ECU gets a signal from the dizzy. Before removing the tank I assume there will be an access cover below the centre console, take the supply connector off the pump, and using a mulitmeter or testlamp check that the power is getting to the pump. If so using another power scource try reversing the polarity to try and make the pump run in reverse which might be enough to free it off. If no luck then its the dreaded tank removal . Shouldn't you be working on a silver Celica rather than an old MR2 ;D ;D
