Well for me I would be spoiled for choice ;D I have picked up a good selection through my years of driving. But I must say I do love my Toyota 1000 estate Its quirky its strange its certainly different. Also my Corolla GT I have had this wee car for 10yrs this year and still love it. My Mk1 MR2 I've had for about 6yrs my list could go on but I wont ;D

Had a high spec prius (demonstrator) the other weekend, a drive by wire experience not to be missed if you get a chance. It takes a while to get used to it but so easy to drive . Did you know the same female voice is on ALL GB Toyota Satnav systems it must be to give you a comfort factor when you go from one Toyota to another. I would gladly have kept it, but went back to the good old workhorse D4D Avensis tourer ( made in Great Britain ) As for the best Toyota I've ever had------ but nothing except maybe an early Datsun Sunny has the aroma and feel of any 1970s Toyota------------ plastic seats in mustard or dark brown--------- baked to a flesh burning temperature in the summer sun ! Life on Mars--- I wore flairs the first time around. Maybe this years Nationals will have some sunshine !!!

Hello all, new "boy" here. My first Toyota had to be one of the best cars i ever had.It was a Corolla Coupe TE37 Blackhawk, South African Model with the good old 2T-B Engine & 5-Speed box in it.Had it for ages until a BIG Chrysler Valiant broke it in two! Those who know the Valiant cars will also know that they are only slightly smaller & lighter than an elephant? when our 2 cars met unexpectedly the Corolla lost. Sadly i don't have the car but i do have the memories....

hey there travelledscot! i take it this wasn't in the UK? What box did you have? I'm looking to get a five speed into my TE51 with standard 2T engine. It's got a T40 box, but i've heard that a late T50 will just bolt straight in? jon

Yes Jon you are right, the TE37 i had was a South African car which is where i used to live. There were 2 "special" Models of this Corolla Coupe made, one was the Blackhawk which is what i had and the other was called a Silver Wolf which was of course Silver with Wolf Emblems on the side of the car. I am not sure what box these cars had in them but i do remember that the 4spd and 5spd boxes in these cars were just bolt off (4spd) and bolt on (5spd). Apart from the 4A-GE, i think that the 2T/3T Engines were the best ever made by Toyota

hi travelledscot - got any pics of your <Blackhawk> you can post. Any other SA special editions you can recall of other models etc. Sounds interesting. (My first car was an SA Datsun Laurel 280L NC230X, 1981 four headlamp model. It was locally assembled in SA UK cars were just 200 or 240L's i.e. smaller engines.)
I expect various Toyota models were also assembled in SA too? My Laurel had a totally different track from the regular models, and all sorts of oddball parts like when a wheel bearing went, i had to close match up from same sizes the best fitting generic part.
